John Abeles, MD, Ph.D

President, General Partner, MedVest, Inc., Northlea Partners

John H. Abeles, MD, Ph.D is a USA based venture investor, director of companies, consultant, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Since March 1992, Dr. Abeles has been the Founder, Sole Investor and General Partner of Northlea Partners Ltd., a venture and private capital, family partnership headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, which has had numerous investments, both active and passive, mainly in the health care arena but also in other fields.

Brand Rules provides brand and marketing consulting to C-level executives in a variety of industries including automotive and high technology. Mr. Hughes was the founding CEO of Land Rover of North America and served as the CEO of Mazda of North America. He currently serves on several boards including Duke Integrative Medicine at Duke University.

Pierre D. Mourad, Ph.D

Dr. Mourad is a renowned expert in the field of therapeutic ultrasound in both medical and dental applications. He holds numerous patents, including several for the ultrasound toothbrush and drug delivery technologies. Dr. Mourad is the Principal Physicist at the Center for Industrials and Medical Ultrasound at the University of Washington, where he has been on the faculty since 1988. He also serves as an Associate Professor in the Neurological Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry and Bioengineering departments. Dr. Mourad is a founder of PhysioSonics, a medical device development company whose investors include Medtronic and Johnson & Johnson.

Allen Okie, MD, FACAI, FAAP

Dr. Okie is currently in practice and the Medical Director of Family Care Partners in Jacksonville, Florida, a multisite primary care practice with over 100,000 patients. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College and completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in allergy and immunology. He entered private practice in 1973 and operated a managed care company with over 1,000,000 capitated with HMOs around the country for allergy services.

Ron Ritsco, DMD, MS, PA, FACE

Dr. Ritsco has published extensively in several scientific journals and has lectured and taught dentists internationally on many facets of advanced dentistry. He serves on the adjunct faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and serves on the Dean's faculty at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore.

John Harris

President and CEO

Mr. Harris was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Dental Resource Systems (DRS) in May 2011.

He previously served as Chief Technology Officer and General Manager of the Government and Commercial Services division of Communications Services for the Deaf Video Relay Service (CSDVRS), the second largest provider of telecommunications in the $750MM video relay service industry.

Vicki Jennings

Director of Practice Support

Vicki graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Family and Home Sciences, and began her career of helping people as an office manager for both dental and medical practices in 1979. She continued to provide her unique level of customer care as the Customer Service Manager at Utah Valley Dental Lab until joining DRS in 2009.

Scott Peterson

Director of Technical Services

Scott joined DRS in 2009 after technical leadership and management positions within Henry Schein's software group, including Dentrix, Easy Dental and Vipersoft/Clarity. Henry Schein is the largest dental products distributor and services provider in the world. Mr. Peterson is responsible for managing the technology services and support organization for TruDenta practices and DRS.

Since 1980, Dr. Abeles has also been President of MedVest, Inc., a business and financial consulting firm. He has been instrumental in helping promulgate many early stage medical and other companies, some are still private and several have emerged into the public arena.

He has been a Managing Member of ProMed Capital LLC, a New York investment group promulgating Israeli medical venture companies and investments. ProMed has initiated three major Israeli investments: Althera (local, alpha-particle brachytherapy treatment of solid tumors); Endogun (surgical system for gynecology and urology surgery); HDH (stitchless vascular anastomosis system).

Regarding the public companies on the Boards of which he is currently, he has been a director of Oryx Technology since its organization in July 1993 and served as Chairman of its Board of Directors from October 1993 until April 1997. Dr. Abeles served on the Board of Directors of I-Flow Corporation; a company that manufactures infusion devices (recently acquired by KimberlyClark); DUSA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. a publicly traded company, which is developing dermatology and photodynamic therapy products; Oryx Technology, a public software company; Combimatrix, a diagnostic company; and CytoCore, Inc, which is researching medical diagnostic equipment.

Past public companies he has helped to promulgate include Encore Medical (an orthopedics/physiatry company acquired by Blackstone Capital; Newport Pharmaceuticals acquired by Merck; Imre Corporation acquired by Fresenius; ProCyte a biotech company acquired by PhotoMeex.

Regarding private companies, he is a Director of Alison Raffaele Cosmetics; BioStar (breast cancer science); Unimedica (medical education); ContraFect (anti-infective immunology): Etubics Corp (new navvine and DNA vectors); and MediSync BioSciences, a CRO (contract research organization) roll-up concern. He was an early promulgator of InSound Corp, an advanced hearing aid company, recently acquired privately by Sonova; and was a Director of Textronics, an intelligent textiles company, acquired by Adidas.

Dr. Abeles serves as an Advisory Board Member of the College of Chemistry, University of California, Berkeley, and has been on the Advisory Board of the Higuchi BioSciences Institute at the University of Kansas. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, London.

He is a Director of the International Opera Alliance, New York and a member of the Players Club, New York, which is given to the promulgation of the dramatic and performance arts. He is also on the board of the New Group, a theater organization in New York. Dr. Abeles is the President of Dalyda Finance Corp, which supports and invests in promising performing artists, artists and projects. Northlea and also Dalyda make investments in theater and film.

He is an avid football (Niners) and baseball (Athletics) fan, and a fitness enthusiast.

He has a diploma in music from the Royal Schools of Music (piano and violin). He thanks the fates for good books and worthy movies (a strong passion) which have illuminated his life. He is married thirty-three years to Mimi, a classical singer and a classic beauty. They have three grown children, all successful performing artists in drama and music.

In the Orthodontic Community:

After completing my training, I served as chief of orthodontics at the Royal Air Force in Upper Heyford, England, for four years. I then became a member of the craniofacial reconstructive team and taught in the maxillofacial training program during my assignment at California's David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base. Then, during the Persian Gulf War, I served as chief of orthodontics at the Torrejon Air Force Base in Madrid, Spain. My final military assignment was at Davis-Montham Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, where I served as chief of orthodontics before retiring from the U.S. Air Force.

Outside the Office:

My wife, Mary Lynn, and I have been happily married since 1973. We have four children: Bryan, Laurie, Chase, and Scott. In addition to working as an orthodontist, I pursued theological training at the Southwestern Theological Seminary and received my Master's of Divinity degree in Evangelism and Missions. As an ordained Southern Baptist minister, I am currently involved in assisting the poor and homeless in my community.

TAt CSDVRS, he launched several successful new products and dramatically grew revenues over a 36-month period. Prior to CSDVRS, Mr. Harris was CEO and CTO of CHANGE VISEON TO VSNI Inc. Viseon, Inc., developing a fully integrated multi-media communication device for broadband carriers and large cable companies. From 1986 until 1998, Mr. Harris was founder and CEO of CompuNet Support Systems, Inc. a systems integrator, specializing in technology integration for professional service firms, including medical and dental practices. He has authored or co-authored several patents related to broadband communications technologies.

Dr. Montgomery is well known for his mastery of skills in the areas of Invisalign orthodontics, smile enhancement and veneer, reconstruction and restoration of worn and damaged teeth, and in controlling tooth grinding, dentomandibular sensorimotor dysfunction, and head/face pain. His greatest talents are in the area of comprehensive diagnosis of complex problems.

Dr. Montgomery currently partners with Aesthetic Masters and UNLV, in live patient hands-on curricula for post-graduate clinical studies. He also is Chief Dental Officer at Dental Resource Systems, as well as, an educator with Pride Institute in the area of Clinical Management. Dr. Montgomery was on the faculty of AlignTech Institute, training dentists in the Invisalign system. He presents continuing education courses, affiliated with the Aesthetic Masters Group, in the areas of occlusion and full mouth reconstruction.
